Cooper & Swoopes new coaches!!!:

Houston Comets. 3-Peat. This was my team and my 3 growing up!! My basketball idols! Even though I grew up in the Jordan Era, all remember was the Htown 3. Swoopes, Cooper & Thompson (oh yea that lipstick!). Hey I’m a Texan so it’s to be expected.

I look forward to see how Swoopes does her first go round as a head coach. I had the opportunity of meeting Cynthia Cooper-Dyke (name change since marriage) and she was awesome. Best of luck to both coaches! Thompson got next???

Sheryl Swoopes, one of the top players in women’s basketball history, is the new coach at Loyola of Chicago. A standout at Texas Tech in the early 1990s and the first three-time most valuable player in the WNBA, Swoopes will try to invigorate a struggling program.

Cynthia Cooper-Dyke is returning to her alma mater, as USC announced the Hall-of-Famer will be the school’s next women’s head basketball coach.

Cooper-Dyke had a stellar playing career as her resume lists two NCAA titles at USC, four WNBA championships and an Olympic gold medal.

She has been a collegiate head coach for eight years, leading Texas Southern to a Southwestern Athletic Conference regular season championship last season. Before that, Cooper-Dyke spent five years at Prairie View A&M (2006-10) and two at UNC Wilmington (2011-12) and has a career record of 150-106.

The collegiate BMX national championships took place in Phoenix, Ariz., as the riders took to the Black Mountain BMX Track. A record turnout of 52 riders, more than twice the participation of 2012, battled it out for individual and team titles on behalf of 12 colleges and universities in front of over 5,000 enthusiastic BMX fans.

Women’s participation more than tripled from last year, to 23 total entrants, but the top result remained the same as last year: Dominique Daniels (Gilbert, Ariz./Grand Canyon University) won the day after winning two of her motos and the semifinals, overcoming stiff competition from defending team champions Lindsey Wilson College and newcomers Marian University.

I’ve been following singer/songwriter Jo’zzy for about a little under two years. I actually didn’t know she was an artist for a minute. She had serious swag and dressed to kill. I HAD to follow this chick. Since then she hasn’t let up. Hailing from Tennessee she has worked with the likes of Missy Elliott to Beyonce and Jay-z, then lost weight (proud of that!), teamed up with one of the greatest producers of all-time in Timbaland, all without losing her identity in the big lights of Miami. As one of my favorite new artist, and tomboys, preps for her new project dropping tomorrow, I want you to get to know Jo’zzy a bit more!

The 2013 WNBA Draft was one to remember! Not only was the best female baller of our time drafted to greatness but these ladies slayed in their various ensembles. Hands down Brittney Griner won Best Dressed!

Now before you say “Oh you’re just saying that cause she’s Brittney freakin Griner!” Ummm NO! You would be wrong. When I tell you I’ve been waiting on the day to see BG in a killer tailored suit, I got what I wanted. She did NOT disappoint at all. You don’t see most NBA players dressing this badd.

I honestly thought, wow she must have called up the infamous athlete stylist Rachel Johnson. On the contrary, she served thanks to Kellen Richards, a stylist for the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Oh and let’s not forget those fierce nails. I definitely look forward to what BG has in store for us her rookie year fashion wise….

I’m thinking Russell Westbrook of the WNBA!! Wondering if she got advice from her dude RG3 to have her socks game so tight. I see you B!

I was really diggin the sophisticated androgynous swag at the draft this year. ^^Loved Layshia Clarendon’s outfit! I just felt like it was too weekend at the Hamptons/Kentucky Derby for the draft though. However she and Tayler Hill were my top two after BG.

Oh and I looooove the new WNBA logo!!
