Actress Nicole Ari Parker Invents Headwrap That Protects Your Hair From Sweat

The wrap, which Nicole Ari Parker (@nicolearip) released earlier this month and comes in different sizes and colors, uses Edge Control Technology to absorb sweat and heat while allowing cool air in.

The wrap cost between $24.95 and $29.95. Ten percent of the proceeds go to Sophie’s Voice Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Parker and her FINE husband, Boris Kodjoe, to honor their daughter Sophie, who has spina bifida.

The First Lady is down w/ BMX

As part of the Team USA Media Summit, First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama announced a national commitment to coax more than 1.7 MILLION young people off the couch! Mrs. Obama’s “Let’s Move!” initiative will join with the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), the US Olympic Committee, and NINE other national organizations to get kids involved in sports and activities they may not be otherwise exposed to.

BMX Racing is right in the thick of things, joining Swimming, Soccer, Track & Field, Field Hockey, Tennis, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Basketball in Mrs Obama’s speech.

The US Olympic Committee said that USA Cycling, and USA BMX will do the following as their part of the initiative:

Free 30-day memberships to tracks and free races/clinics at 350 BMX tracks nationwide this summer. These efforts will engage approximately 88,000 young people, an increase of 40% from 2011.

Samarria Brevard (@SamarriaBrevard) was just signed a few months back to the infamous Hoopla Skateboards out of CA. Samarria is now teamed up with some of the veterans in the industry such as, Cara-Beth Burnside and Mimi Knoop.
